You want a piece of ME? ;-)

I tease that I have lots going on and now even my doctor wants a piece of me. I go this Wednesday for a biopsy of a tumor on my lung. Most likely NOT cancerous because of the shape and location of it – but the choice to monitor it for two years or just go in and take care of it – just seemed to make more sense to take care of “it”. Plus if it is cancer – we give it the opportunity to spread. A little pain for a piece of mind – seems worth it to me.

But did you ever notice when you think about taking time “off” from life – you realize just how busy life is? Okay – I know my family is saying – you’re always at full speed ahead – that is your “mode” – but honestly – more so than ever. That no matter where I turn – I’m really, really busy.

Our company has relocated about two exits away from where we are currently located. They would like to have our administrative offices join the decorating and production facility – their vision is to have us all under one roof to operate more smoothly and effectively. Till then we are all out of sorts as we work and pack to move – but we’re surviving. On the plus side - it has made us all “clean house” as we pack and organize for the move. It is amazing how much “stuff” I have accumulated in the 13 plus years that I have worked here! The best outcome -- it has also made me find the “buried” treasures within my desk – those oh so precious things that you save and “forget about”. But when you find them a rush of memories bubble quickly up. They are all packed away – ready to move on to its new location – in a new desk – to be there for another moment and time – when I’ll pull them back out and say – remember when. But it mostly makes me think that I NEVER want to move again!

My volunteer position has also taken a full speed ahead direction. I volunteer at my son’s preschool – well actually – he doesn’t attend preschool there – we enrolled him – but we were never able to potty train him – so I serve on the Executive Board as a Vice President at a school that my son doesn’t attend. I hope to have him potty trained by the end of the year and he’ll start attending by January. Anyways -- we are super busy with a Parent & Me teacher search, exploring the possibility that we may have to move and finding rental space that would fit our situation and budget has been beyond challenging. Not to mention the day to day operations of my duties as Vice President.

As you may know -- I work part-time as a Human Resource Assistant, also have two exchange students to oversee and write reports on. And we all know – keeping up with three children and a grandchild adds many blessing but also work in to our lives! Did I mention helping plan a wedding for my daughter and hoping to have Thanksgiving at our house?

Thank goodness for a WONDERFUL husband who is so hands on and steps right in to help wherever/whenever needed. I don’t know what I’d do without him in my life. But I stress that I am adding more on to “his” plate with my surgery because he also works with me and his department has a MAJOR role in the move – computers, phones, faxes – etc. Well – you get the picture!

So send good thoughts my way on Wednesday – I want to be back up and “running” by the end of the weekend.
