From the desk of:
VolunteerAdministrative Executive Director
Kazakh Aul of theU.S., Association for American & Kazakh Families
The Kazakh Aul of the US’s summer camp host site, the Geneva Point Center on Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire just informed me that they had a group cancel a week in July 2007 and they offered this week to our group.
This is exciting news for our Aul because many families across the U.S. are unable to come during the previously reserved August week because their children return to school during that time. The opportunity to hold Zhailau during July means that many more of our members and other Kazakh adoptive families from across the U.S. will now be able to attend our family culture camp. So, we are changing the dates for our Zhailau Kazakh Heritage Camp for Families, and they are now and will remain:
July 23 – 28, 2007
We hope that this change has come early enough for people since we just announced the other August dates about 10 days ago, and does not inconvenience anyone. Also, please know that after discussions with the Geneva Point Center, it was clear that they could offer our group more space during the July week. For those who attended last year, that includes use of the GPC Chapel, which we only found out yesterday was a concern for the August week! That space was an important one for our group, and the director of the GPC has assured me that we can have that space during July and that he will always work with us to accommodate our needs.
More information, including registration materials, housing info, and costs will be made available on the Aul website as we firm up those details.
