Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Max
Happy Birthday to you
And MANY more!!!!
Today our little guy turns 7 – it seems like in a blink of an eye and he is a little boy and not a baby anymore. It was around 6 years ago – that I ventured into my husband’s office and asked him to look at the children on Tedi Bear Adoptions’ waiting children photo listing. Out of the children – our hearts were both led to our son. It was a whirlwind of changing our paperwork and completing another dossier (we were paper ready for Ukraine). It is that magic moment that we were blessed beyond belief with Max he captured our hearts!
Through the years – I’ve learned that most likely today is a day that someone in his birth family will think of him more than usual – so just in case you’re reading this (we’ve searched twice for you now without success) – let me tell you about him………
Max had an incredible LOVE for being outdoors from the moment we met him – we’re not 100% sure if he loved us — or just the idea of us taking him outdoors to play when we met him. He is very kind, considerate and just a pleasure to be around. Other parents and teachers always comment about his kindness and his urge to have things done fairly. Max was able to master riding a bike in 10 minutes when he was only four! He loves to scooter, skateboard and roller blade. He loves the outdoors in the spring, summer, winter and fall – it doesn’t matter – he finds something to do or play. He has incredible eyes that grown woman even fall for! He is funny – he cracks us up all the time! He can memorize any type of rhyme – even the ones he shouldn’t (especially since he is a bus rider). Max doesn’t like to be alone – if you wake up before him – he wants you to wait for him or take him downstairs with you. He does like to whine and sometimes doesn’t give children their “space” – he gets intense and wants to just talk. He hopes that the rules change so he can be President of the United States. He loves math, history and geography! He’ll read – but it takes some “pushing” to get him to do so. He definitely has a preference for daddy – almost always has – but comes to mommy for things he wants done (like getting a glass of milk, tying shoes, etc). He doesn’t like the dark and sleeps with a night light on. He is about average in size and weight. He likes playing video games – but never “sits” when doing so – he is in constant motion making the “game” move. He is a pack rat of sorts – saving WAY too much – yet loosing his personal things all the time (hats, gloves, coats).
That is Max in a nutshell – he means the world to us – and we love him to the moon and back!
Happy Birthday sweetie!

Hi Cyndi,
So happy to hear that Max is doing so well. Our Semey babies are indeed prescious. I don’t know if you remember Araya. We adopted through LMI in 2000. She is 9 now, and is just an amazing child. Happy birthday to Max!
Ilona
Hi Ilona,
Thank you! Wow – 9 – where does the time go? Are you on the Semey Yahoo group? I’m so much better with faces than names. I’m so glad to see the LMI’s program is open in Semey again – finally more children coming home from that region.
